Episode Summary[]

Ariadne is in a coma with a fractured skull. The baby is unharmed. Jean crashes her car into a skip and as the damaged car is being towed away it catches fire. She directs it to the fire station, where Sicknote is stunned to find their car ablaze. Pitbull soon finds out and winds Sicknote up about it and helps himself to one of Blue Watch's breakfast sausages. Hallam catches him and warns him about causing trouble and also burns Pitbull's hand with the sausage. Hallam brings Nick a change of clothes at the hospital. Ariadne is still in a coma and on a life support machine.

George and Kelly view a house in a much nicer area and Lil offers to pay the deposit, but she and George bicker over it. Kevin is trying to get rid of Micky. He realises Micky is still getting into trouble and using drugs and confronts him about it. Recall confides to Bayleaf that Laura and Jamie have their hearts set on a move to Scotland but he isn't keen. Sandra has won promotion and is set for a business trip to Brussels. With Nick still off, Blue Watch get a standby firefighter, an oddball nicknamed Clingfilm who strikes up a friendship with Geoff. Doctors perform an emergency caesarean section on Ariadne.

Scase arrives at the station and informs Sicknote that he has cleared him of wrongdoing after his altercation with Mr Pullen on the grounds that he probably was severely provoked and that Mr Pullen has agreed to drop the complaint. Blue Watch are called to a house fire and when they return they find ACO Bulstrode's successor, Baxter waiting for them. Scase reprimands Recall when he spots him not wearing a shirt under his tunic as his shirt got wet during a shout. However, Baxter quietly reprimands Scase for his rudeness and lack of discretion. The doctors inform Nick that his son was delivered successfully but Ariadne died of a heart attack during the procedure.
