Episode Summary[]

A drunk city yuppy accidentally drops the contents of his briefcase onto the track at a London Underground station and climbs down to retrieve them. Inevitably, a train races into the station and hits him. Blue Watch arrive to find the man still alive and free him by jacking the carriage up. Bayleaf learns that Recall's son Jamie suffers from cystic fibrosis. Sicknote reaches the end of his tether as a councillor when he returns home to find an irate constituent chained to his front gate and decides to resign. Jean is delighted.

George talks a guilty Kevin into visiting Marion in hospital. They patch things up and he moves in with her. Kate is getting disenchanted with Jeff as his main interests are rock climbing and hiking. Bayleaf suggests holding a fundraiser to send Recall and his family to Disneyland, Florida. Colin reveals that he has never been abroad, so Nick suggests they all go on a trip to Boulogne.

Blue Watch tackle a large blaze at a hotel caused by a girl knocking an ashtray with a lit cigar onto a sofa. Inside, Colin distinguishes himself by saving a fellow firefighter who falls into an elevator shaft. The gradually bring the guests down with the Hydraulic Platform. They also find a designated fire exit blocked and Nick and the FIU's investigating officer confront the manager about the blocked exit. It turns out that the hotel has illegally been altered since the last safety certificate was issued, leaving the building a major fire hazard. Kate passes her end of probation exams, much to Colin's disappointment.
