Episode Summary[]

Kevin hasn't appeared at work since being punched by Nick at his party. George learns that he is going to be a father. He visits Kevin and convinces him to come back to work. Bayleaf and Clare are house hunting, but cannot find a house they like. Bayleaf also pledges to finally fix Hallam's kitchen. In his office Nick and Kevin make their peace and Nick offers to help Kevin try for promotion.

Two boys break into a boat moored in a marina and take out the cooking gas cylinder to sniff it. Alerted by an alarm, a security guard goes to investigate. He switches the light on, which ignites the gas and blows the boat up. By the time Blue Watch arrive, several boats are on fire. Kevin spots the security guard and dives into the freezing water without a line. Nick then dives in to help Kevin. They find the bodies of the guard and the other boy, both are dead.

Sicknote is still being pestered by complaining constituents. Jeff takes Kate rock climbing; she is starting to grow weary of his interests. Nick is fed up with the constant pressure from his uncle Demetri to marry Ariadne. Jaffa and Colin finally catch up with Technique at Marion's house. Jaffa confiscates Technique's van in compensation for the dud window cleaning round he sold them. Marion realises Technique is a rat and throws him out. She then tries to patch things up with Kevin, but he rebuffs her. Distraught, she takes an overdose and is rushed to hospital. Bayleaf, Malcolm and Recall watch the football while Green Watch fit the window in the Hallams' kitchen.
