Episode Summary[]

Hallam is still annoyed with Sicknote for not answering the appliance radio when he and Billy were trapped in a supermarket store room, even though Sicknote was on the fire ground at the time. Nick queries whether the memories of being buried alive at a previous shout affected him. Blue Watch's football match against Borough Street is approaching. Pearce is puzzled to find he isn't in the team, despite putting his name down.

The watch are called out to rescue a cat stuck up a chimney. Eventually their attempts to coax the cat down pay off and he jumps down, covered in soot. Sicknote is once again at odds with the commuter who keeps parking outside his house, who accuses him of scratching his car. Sicknote kicks his car and the driver responds by running over his bike. George is reluctantly shopping for baby clothes with Kelly where they bump into Nick and Ariadne. Clare is gradually coming round to Bayleaf's idea of making a go of the restaurant. Billy arranges for him and Kevin to go on a double date with Lauren and Dixie. They head to a casino, where Kevin gets drunk, suffers more losses at the blackjack table and ends up being ejected from the club. Kelly's parents buy her and George a new house.

It's the day of the football match. Scase is the referee and Pearce is a linesman. George has to pull out because it clashes with their moving day, so Hallam ends up in goal. Blue Watch win the match thanks to Billy's run and cross and Recall's match winning headed goal. Speculation continues to grow about Patti's apparent absence. Two nurses appear at Blackwall needing their tea urn filled with water and they all eagerly agree to oblige. A married man and his lover are caught out by his abusive wife, who accidentally starts a fire in the ensuing row. The man ends up trapped in his bathroom naked while the room burns. Still nude, he has to climb out of the window via a ladder, guided by Hallam. The watch all agree to donate blood. Sicknote is uneasy about it. They decide to play a prank on him while he is donating and bring out a large tank of fake blood. Upon seeing it, he faints. Lauren visits Kevin at his houseboat to find out how he is. Billy turns up and gets the wrong impression, and storms off.

Sicknote: "That's a waste of talent. Could have stabbed them in the back as they ran out!"
