Episode Summary[]

Bayleaf finds a package containing a video tape in the internal mail and gathers the crew to watch it in the rec room. It turns out to be a video of their missing mascot Bulstrode, renamed "Nobby Gnome", demanding a ransom for his return. Recall identifies the voice as that of Jimbo Woods from Borough Street "doing his Peter Sellers impression". The pump ladder crew are called out to a man who is locked out of his house. Annoyed that he will have to pay a fee for them to break into his house, he lights a newspaper and pushes it through the letter box. They put the fire out with an extinguisher and he is arrested.

Before returning to Blackwall, Recall realises they are only five minutes from away from Borough Street, so they head there. As they cannot find Bulstrode, they instead steal the Station Officer's false teeth. In the morning the Borough Street pump arrives and the officer demands the return of his teeth. He orders his crew to hand over Blackwall's gnome, and Malcolm sheepishly returns the teeth. The crew get a dressing down from a furious Nick, who warns Malcolm that this is his last chance and will be dismissed if he pulls off one more piece of idiocy

Two children are waiting in the back of a car while their mother is on the phone. One starts playing with matches and accidentally starts a fire in the car while his younger sister is trapped inside. Within minutes, the car is ablaze. By the time Blue Watch arrive, it is too late and the child is dead.

Colin's probation is over and he is made a full member of the Brigade, to his elation. His family holds a party to celebrate and at the watch's suggestion, Kate convinces Zoe to give Colin a second chance.

POPS are auditioning for "Richard III". After securing the male lead for himself, Sicknote casts a newcomer named Cynthia as his partner, leaving Jean fuming with jealousy. Nick is in court to testify in a hearing about the hotel fire in which the owner was found to be in breach of safety regulations. A workman accidentally sets an old man's attic on fire and Blue Watch are called to put it out. They learn that the old man is a former firefighter. After the shift, Colin has his party, but Colin's mum is not pleased when she catches him and Zoe kissing in the shed.
