Episode Summary[]

Blue Watch are practising for Sicknote's new play to raise awareness about fire safety. They take a break thanks to JoeRecall, Joe and George go into the gym where they are hiding a ghost costume to spook Hi-Ho with as they have learned that Hi-Ho believes in ghosts. Sally talks to Rob about taking self defence classes. Kelly turns up looking for George while Dan is making cake for the watch. Rob tries to convince George into getting back with Kelly but George doesn't want to hear it. Sicknote brings them back to finish their rehearsal, Geoff moans about looking like the Flaming Statue of Liberty and about his costume while Hyper gets rid of Kelly. Kelly comes back to see George, who doesn't want to see her.

The others settle down for lunch when Joe tells Hi-Ho about the Ghost of Blackwall, "Nelly Swane", and that she haunts the watchroom. The bells go down, but only the TL is required. Hyper has something to say to the watch, but struggles to tell them. He finally blurts out that he is gay. Geoff and Joe do not take the news well. The bells go down again. Only the pump is needed. They arrive and are told that the only working lift's alarm has gone off. Back at the station, the others are still in shock about Hyper's announcement. Hyper finds the broken lift and goes down to check on it, where he gets stuck. Geoff can't contact Hyper so he comes down with Sally. Joe finds him first and tries to open the doors.

Sally comes up with a ladder as the others manage to open the doors. Joe is sent down to rescue Hyper, which he only does reluctantly. Hi-Ho is standing at the doors which he closes as the rain falls. Back at the station, Hyper tells the watch what happened at his old station with his old Sub Officer and he reveals that a friend of his attacked him on a fire ground after his guvnor saved his life at the shout. Geoff moans about Hyper being gay to Coleman, but Coleman dismisses his complaints. George goes down to the gym with Sally. They practise boxing until Hi-Ho comes around wanting to join in. George lets him take over and reminds him about Nelly Swane but Hi-Ho says he is not scared of her. Everyone returns to bed except for Joe. Recall and George terrify Hi-Ho with their ghost costume of Nelly Swane. After a good laugh everyone returns to bed but Rob, still feeling isolated, decides to sleep in the mess.
