Episode 10 (series 5) is the final episode of the fifth series of London's Burning. It was first broadcast in the UK on November 29, 1992.

Episode Summary[]

Colin and Zoe are preparing for their wedding day. Bayleaf flies to Spain and catches the private eye sunbathing, and tells him that he is fired. Back in London, two crooks fiddle with some electric gadgets in a hotel room, causing a huge explosion and a big crash on the street. Colin finds the remains of the electric gear in the hotel room and takes them outside. A policeman suspects that Colin is holding a bomb and orders him to stand very still. Colin is petrified but eventually manages to put the bomb down safely with Nick's help. An expert later explains that the bomb was not armed and could not have gone off. Bayleaf finally sees Melanie, who is working as a waitress in a cafe with Karen. With the help of a local man, he tells her to meet him with her passport, and takes her back to England.

Colin refuses to tell the others where he and Zoe will be spending their wedding night, suspecting (correctly) that they intend to play another prank on him. Nick won't tell them either. Kate meanwhile decides to give Don a chance despite losing their baby and invites him to Colin's wedding. At his stag do, the lads tie a paralytic Colin to a lamppost in the pouring rain and finally get him to reveal the name of their honeymoon hotel. The wedding goes off without a hitch and is only disturbed by the loud wailing of Colin's mum. Zoe throws the bridal bouquet and Don catches it, making Kate blush.

After the newlyweds have left the reception, George, Recall, Sicknote and Kevin sneak off to the Clarendon Hotel looking for them. They find that there are no Parrishes booked into the honeymoon suite, only a couple called Smith. Suspecting that Colin and Zoe have checked in under a fake name, they barge into the room yelling and spraying confetti and terrifying the couple, who they quickly realise are complete strangers, and beat a hasty retreat. Meanwhile Colin and Zoe enjoy an undisturbed wedding night at the Tower Thistle hotel and laugh about him turning the tables on the lads. During the next duty, Nick hands round a postcard from a gloating Colin. Blackwall is once again under threat of closure and Hallam makes an impassioned speech in its defence.

Final appearances of Kate Stevens, Karen Wilson and Don.

The scenes where Bayleaf finds Melanie in Spain were filmed on location in the resort of Torremolinos.
