Dominic Robinson was a member of POPS (Penge Occasional Players Society) who became a love and acting rival of Bert 'Sicknote' Quigley. He had been a members of WOPS (Woking Occasional Players Society) when he moved to Blackwall and joined POPS. Jean took an immediate liking to him and began helping him with his rehearsals at their house, which made Sicknote jealous.
Sicknote took pleasure in sniping at Dominic but was left fuming when Dominic won the lead in The Student Prince ahead of him, and accused him of bribing the producer. Sicknote then resigned from POPS and walked out on Jean to move in with Charisma. Jean was unrepentant and told Nancy Tate that she and Dominic had plans to go on tour together. However, things went awry when Dominic injured his larynx in a fall and Sicknote gleefully took over as the play's lead.
